FIRST TIME WORRIES
I’m nervous… is that normal?
Absolutely. Almost everyone feels a little apprehensive before their first session. Our studio is a judgment-free zone, and we are here to support you every step of the way. You'll likely find that after the first ten minutes, those nerves turn into focus and enjoyment.
Will everyone be better than me?
Reformer Pilates is a personal journey. In every class, you'll find people at different stages of their practice. We focus on individual progress rather than competition. Your instructor will provide modifications so you can work at a pace that feels right for you.
I’m worried I’ll hold the class up.
You won't! Our classes are designed to be inclusive and easy to follow. Each movement is explained clearly, and our instructors keep a close eye on everyone to ensure they are comfortable. There is no 'keep up'—only 'show up' and do your best.
One last thing…
Just remember that every expert was once a beginner. We are a community that celebrates the first step just as much as the hundredth. We can't wait to welcome you to the studio.
Practical Details
Do I need to be fit to start?
I'm not flexible, can I still do it?
Is the machine complicated?
Not at all. Our classes are designed to build your fitness from wherever you are starting today. Everyone progresses at their own pace.
Yes! Pilates is one of the best ways to improve flexibility. You don't need it to start; you gain it as you go through consistent practice.
It looks scientific, but it's very intuitive once you're on it. Your instructor will guide you through every spring change and lever during class.
What does the workout feel like?
Will I ACHE afterwards?
Will I be exhausted?
Expect a controlled, deep burn. You will move slowly but feel every muscle working in a focused, low-impact way that builds strength.
Muscle soreness is common, especially at first. It is a healthy sign that your muscles are adapting and growing stronger from the resistance.
You will leave feeling worked, but often more energized than when you arrived. It is a satisfying, productive level of fatigue.
How often should I come?
When will I see results?
Is it for men/over 60s/injuries?
Consistency is key for results. 2-3 times a week is the sweet spot for seeing and feeling significant changes in your body and posture.
Joseph Pilates famously said In 10 sessions you'll feel the difference, in 20 you'll see it, and in 30 you'll have a whole new body. Patience and dedication pay off.
Absolutely. We welcome everyone. Pilates was originally designed by a man, and we provide modifications for every body type and history.
What should I wear and bring?
Are classes always the same?
Wear comfortable leggings or shorts (nothing too baggy) and bring a water bottle. Grip socks are recommended, and we provide everything else.
Never. We keep things fresh with different sequences and focuses to ensure your body keeps progressing and you never get bored.
